As founding director for its Koshland Science Museum,
Ucko laid the groundwork for extending the reach of
the National Academy of Sciences by acting as a "wholesaler"
of expert content to science centers and other "audience-rich"
Ucko has led the development of web sites, hosted a
radio show, written and edited exhibition catalogs and
publications, assisted in the creation of giant-screen
films, and guided large-scale public events (such as
Science City Festival in Kansas City and Hispanic Family
Day in Los Angeles).
